Previously, it was reported that Nvidia has the latest plans for the GeForceRTX3050 series product line and has notified AIC brand manufacturers. The existing 8GB video memory version will be discontinued, and then a 6GB video memory version will be launched, which is expected to arrive in January next year and go on sale.
According to Benchlife, the GeForce RTX 3050 6GB version may be priced in the range of US$179 to US$189, which is lower than the US$249 when the 8GB version was initially launched.
Nvidia officially released the GeForceRTX3050 at the CES2022 exhibition, which uses the GA106-150 based on the Ampere architecture. It has 2560 CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR6 memory, a 128-bit memory width, a memory rate of 14Gbps, and a TGP of 130W. Later, NVIDIA brought a version equipped with GA107, and the TGP was reduced to 115W.
It is rumored that the GeForceRTX30506GB version will be based on the existing GA107-325. The core frequency will be reduced from the original 1777MHz to 1470MHz. The GDDR6 memory bit width will also be reduced from 128 bits to 96 bits. TGP will also be further reduced from 115W to 70W without the need for external power supply. However, it is not yet clear whether the number of CUDA cores has changed.
In addition, Benchlife speculates that a new GeForceRTX40 series graphics card may be inserted between GeForceRTX30506GB and GeForceRTX40608GB to meet the needs of consumers in different price ranges. Due to the large performance difference between GeForceRTX30506GB and GeForceRTX40608GB, this speculation at least seems reasonable based on NVIDIA's usual approach.
Currently, Nvidia has only launched the mobile version of GeForce RTX 4050 for laptops, and there has been no news about the desktop version.
