According to CNET, DoorDash, the largest food delivery platform in the United States, recently announced that it has reached a cooperation with Waymo, a subsidiary of Google, and will officially incorporate Waymo driverless taxis into its food delivery service system. The cooperation coverage area is locked in the Phoenix (Phoenix) metropolitan area of Arizona, United States, with a service range of 816 kilometers.
It is understood that the functions related to this cooperation are currently in the testing stage. When local consumers place orders through DoorDash's Autonomous Delivery Platform, they can choose Waymo's autonomous vehicle delivery service. When the food is delivered, users can use the DoorDash app to open the back compartment of the vehicle to pick up the food. The entire food pickup process is convenient and efficient.

As the leading food delivery platform in the United States, DoorDash has currently built a diversified delivery system, covering manual delivery, robot delivery, drone delivery and other methods. Waymo driverless cars are the latest addition to the delivery force. However, it should be noted that at this stage, only DoorDash self-operated stores can use Waymo unmanned vehicles to deliver meals. The platform official stated that in the future, the scope of cooperation will be gradually expanded to allow more local merchants to access this delivery service.
In addition to expanding its delivery business, DoorDash also launches supporting promotions to increase user participation. Members of the platform who subscribe to the DashPass service can receive a $10 monthly discount on Waymo driverless taxi rides in three cities: Los Angeles, San Francisco and Phoenix. (Chun Jun)
