The world's first standard module battery-swap boat "Puffer Blue 01" was successfully launched in the Wuhu section of the Yangtze River in Anhui Province in April this year, and has successfully completed the finalization test recently.Zheng Tianbao, chairman of Sandianshui New Energy Technology, the company that developed the ship, said that the team drew on the experience of upgrading rail transportation from green trains to high-speed rail.Positioning "Puffer Blue 01" as a "high-speed rail" in the field of water transportation, its core lies in reconstructing the entire shipping efficiency system."The reason why high-speed rail can speed up depends not only on the vehicle technology itself, but also on the standardized and intelligent station coordination system. It is with this concept that we promote the overall upgrade of the water transportation system."
Under the traditional charging mode, it takes 5-8 hours for ships to berth and charge. However, my country's inland waterway shipping has long been faced with the constraints of a shortage of berth resources - the ratio of productive berths to ships nationwide is as high as 1:15, severely limiting port throughput capacity.
Zheng Tianbao pointed out: "The battery swap mode can greatly shorten the energy replenishment time, effectively alleviate the tension of berths, and reduce users' battery life anxiety."The PACK power swap system adopted by "Puffer Blue 01" takes only 5 minutes to replace a single 430kWh standardized battery, and the entire battery swap of the entire ship's 6 batteries is controlled within 30 minutes, thereby increasing the single-day berth service capacity from the original 6-8 ships to more than 12 ships.
"Puffer Blue 01" also introduces the intelligent collaboration concept of high-speed rail "train-station-rail-cloud", and for the first time builds an integrated system of "cargo-ship-shore-cloud" for inland river shipping. The ship was specially developed for the fixed-point freight scenario from Hefei to Wuhu, and aims to establish a technical template for the new generation of intelligent shipping systems.
As a key technology to fill the global gap, the "ship-vehicle-storage" shared standardized battery pack system has applied for more than 370 patents. This ship is also the first in the world to use car-grade motors in ship power. The measured efficiency exceeds 97%. Combined with the standardized cabin design, it has achieved a comprehensive upgrade of the power system.
In terms of universal compatibility, this technology is based on a mature automotive battery platform to standardize software and hardware, and has passed 23 special ship environment adaptation technology certifications, making the same battery pack compatible with various scenarios such as ships, port heavy trucks, AGV forklifts, and energy storage equipment. The independently developed battery management system has the ability to automatically identify and switch modes in multiple scenarios, and has completed extreme environmental tests such as salt spray, vibration, and temperature changes.
In terms of safety performance, the "ship-vehicle-storage" shared battery pack has achieved double breakthroughs: the active safety layer innovatively developed a battery AI thermal runaway algorithm model, and the passive safety layer is the world's first cell-level high temperature suppression technology. In addition, the team also created an original flexible power supply system for ships, successfully overcoming technical problems in the industry such as instantaneous power loss during battery replacement and battery fire-fighting during driving.
