According to analysts, Apple will launch a new model on the 20th anniversary of the release of the iPhone, skipping the name "iPhone 19" and directly naming it "iPhone 20". This model is expected to be unveiled in the first half of 2027. The release time is earlier than previous new iPhone products and closer to the launch anniversary of the first-generation iPhone.

According to ET News, Omdia chief researcher Heo Moo-yeol said at a conference in Seoul that Apple will change its previous product naming rhythm, similar to the jump from iPhone 8 to iPhone X in 2017. He also said that Apple plans to release iPhone 18e and iPhone 20 at the same time in the first half of 2027.
In addition, Apple is expected to launch iPhone Air, iPhone 20 Pro, iPhone 20 Pro Max and the second-generation foldable iPhone Fold in the second half of the same year. According to multiple previous patents and rumors, iPhone 20 may introduce an all-glass body design, become the first curved iPhone, and adopt a surround touch screen.
Despite this, Omdia, the company where the source of this news comes from, has no significant record of Apple-related revelations in the past. Although its previous predictions about Apple's OLED plan were quite large-scale, they were also aimed at products in 2026 and beyond. Apple's changes in the pace of new product releases are indeed worthy of attention, but there is currently no strong evidence to prove that the model will be released before September. As analysts said, everything in the future still needs to be revealed by the market.
