According to media reports,The construction of the Shanghai Metro Chongming Line has ushered in key progress - the longest domestic rail transit line crossing the Yangtze River has achieved tunnel penetration, marking a milestone breakthrough for the project.
On the morning of October 26, the shield machine for the upper line of the Shanghai Rail Transit Line 22 (Chongming Line) from Chenjiazhen Station to Chendong Middle Wind Shaft arrived successfully and completed the reception. This is the last tunnel section of the entire line to be connected. The successful completion of this node declares that the tunnel structure of the entire line is fully opened.
The total length of the uplink tunnel is about 2,724 meters, and it faced both geological and environmental challenges during the construction process. The line needs to cross rivers, important pipelines and various buildings (structures) many times. It is also located in the typical sandy soil layer of Chongming Island, with unfavorable conditions such as high groundwater level and thick sand layer.
In order to ensure construction safety and the stability of the surrounding environment, STO Metro Construction Group took the lead in organizing multiple rounds of technical demonstrations to comprehensively investigate and evaluate the conditions of buildings along the line. Based on the practice of the test section, the project team optimized the excavation parameters, strictly controlled the amount of simultaneous grouting and the amount of excavation, and implemented secondary grouting in a timely manner after crossing, ultimately accurately controlling the surface settlement within the millimeter range.
The smooth completion of the entire line of tunnels has laid a solid foundation for the comprehensive development of subsequent track laying, mechanical and electrical installation, station decoration and other processes, and will also provide important support for the improvement of the Yangtze River Delta integrated transportation network.
