Amazon may implement its largest layoffs since 2023. According to Reuters news on Monday, people familiar with the matter revealed that Amazon may cut as many as 30,000 jobs in its enterprise functions starting on Tuesday. The layoffs will involve human resources, equipment and services, operations and other areas.

The last time Amazon laid off such large-scale layoffs was at the end of 2022, when the company eliminated a total of about 27,000 jobs. In recent years, Amazon has successively made smaller personnel adjustments in various departments. For example, in January this year, Amazon cut some employees in the communications and sustainability departments.

The layoffs are related to Amazon's introduction of more artificial intelligence agents. In June of this year, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy stated in an internal memo that as the company continues to promote AI applications, the number of jobs needed by the company will decrease.

As of press time, Amazon has not yet made an official response.
