On October 28, the BMW Group announced that it will introduce the first M high-performance station wagon to the Chinese market - the new BMW M3 Touring Edition. This model is scheduled to make its debut in China at the 2025 BMU M Carnival event on November 1 and be officially launched.

As the first travel model of the BMW M brand in the Chinese market, the new BMW M3 Travel Edition is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 390 kilowatts (530 horsepower) and an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. According to the official introduction, the engine uses the same technology as the M4 GT3 Evo racing car, and uses 3D printing technology to optimize the cooling system.

In terms of body design, the car retains the performance characteristics of the M series, including the iconic double-line air intake grille and wide body shape, while providing a luggage compartment space of 500 liters to 1,500 liters. The chassis has been tested and adjusted on tracks such as the Nürburgring, maintaining a 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear axles.

BMW officials stated that the launch of this model continues the product line of the M brand since the first M5 Touring Edition in 1992, aiming to balance performance and daily practicality.

The starting price of the BMW M3 Touring Edition in Germany is 107,200 euros (approximately RMB 884,000). Its competitors include the Audi RS4 Avant (828,800 yuan) and the Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 Touring (700,800 yuan). Compared with the Audi RS4 (450 horsepower/100 mph in 4.1 seconds) and the Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 (408 horsepower/100 mph in 4.7 seconds), the M3 Touring has advantages in power output and acceleration performance.
