The world's longest commercial hollow-core optical cable, created by China Telecom, has been fully connected. This significant optical cable has a total length of 110 kilometers, of which the hollow core optical cable is 100 kilometers long. As the first cross-border hollow core optical cable connecting the securities trading data centers of Dongguan and Hong Kong, it is of groundbreaking significance in the field of cross-regional communications.

Relying on the advanced OSU (Optical Service Unit) transmission system, an ultra-low latency channel has been built between Dongguan and Hong Kong. The two-way latency is as low as 0.93 milliseconds, which is currently the lowest level in the industry.

The successful implementation of this project is inseparable from the support of multiple key technological innovations. In terms of hollow core optical cable technology, major cross-regional breakthroughs have been achieved. China Telecom has simultaneously deployed hollow-core optical fibers in Guangdong and Hong Kong. Compared with traditional solid-core optical fibers, hollow-core optical fibers have significantly reduced transmission delays by more than 30%.

At the same time, with its excellent characteristics of ultra-low loss and ultra-low nonlinear effect, it lays a solid foundation for the transmission of larger bandwidth and breaks the dual limitations of traditional optical fiber in terms of delay and bandwidth.

OSU technology has also ushered in equipment-level innovation.China Telecom uses the latest OSU technology to reduce equipment latency by 40% and achieve industry-leading 2M - 100G lossless elastic bandwidth adjustment. This innovation not only improves the speed of data transmission, but also fully considers the flexibility of bandwidth to meet the diverse needs for bandwidth in different business scenarios.

Routing optimization has also achieved remarkable results. Through careful planning and careful demonstration, China Telecom carried out precise attacks on optical cable routing and successfully reduced the delay by 10% compared with the original routing.

In order to ensure the smooth implementation of routing optimization, China Telecom also specifically applied for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong low-latency air-core optical cable transmission system existing network project. Through the dual guarantee of policy and technology, it has maximized routing efficiency and provided the optimal path for efficient data transmission.

In addition, China Telecom also has the ability to launch targeted ultra-low latency products (level T1S). In response to the high-quality latency requirements of customers in the financial sector, China Telecom has customized a comprehensive solution for customers, covering many aspects such as network access, broadband configuration, 7 x 24-hour dedicated operation and maintenance response, and QoS strategies.
