On October 29, according to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), the "Universal Fast Charging Solution for Mobile Terminals" (standard number: ITU-T L.1004), led by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology ("CAICT") and jointly formulated by Huawei, OPPO, and vivo, has passed the review of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and was officially released as an international standard. This is the first global universal fast charging standard for mobile terminals in the history of the International Telecommunications Union.

The introduction of this standard aims to solve the industry pain points of inconsistent charging protocols and incompatible chargers that have long plagued consumers around the world. In the past, different brands of mobile phones, tablets and other devices often required exclusive fast-charging chargers, which not only caused inconvenience to users, but also caused a large amount of electronic waste. The core of the new standard is to promote a set of integrated fast charging solutions. In the future, consumers are expected to use one charger to efficiently and quickly charge a variety of mobile devices from different manufacturers., which will greatly simplify the user experience and comply with global environmental protection trends.
It is worth noting that in the “Best Practices of Solutions” section of this international standard,my country's independently innovative fast charging technology solution is recommended as the only case in the world. At the same time, the standard references also cite two group standards ([T/CCSA 668|T/TAF 266-2025] and [T/CCSA 394|T/TAF 092-2024]) jointly issued by the China Communications Standards Association (CCSA) and the Telecommunications Terminal Industry Association (TAF), which fully proves that China's technological accumulation and industrial influence in the field of mobile charging technology have gained international recognition.
The adoption of an international standard led by Chinese institutions and enterprises marks China's key transformation from technology following to standards leading in the field of consumer electronics charging technology. The global promotion of this standard is expected to effectively standardize the global charging market, reduce production and R&D costs in the industry chain, and lay the foundation for building a new cross-brand, cross-device, unified and efficient global charging ecosystem.
