In response to the spontaneous combustion of a MEGA on the street in Shanghai on October 23, Li Auto responded yesterday. Li Auto decided to implement a voluntary recall and stated that "Li Auto hopes to ensure that spontaneous combustion accidents will no longer occur in all models in the future." That night, "Tango", the head of Li Auto's product line, announced more details about the recall.
"Old Tang Ge Tango" said,Li Auto has previously delivered more than 1.4 million vehicles to users, and there has never been a vehicle thermal runaway accident in the battery without external causes.
He added: This is not only because we have confidence in the production quality control of our battery suppliers, but also because we have our own cloud-based AI quality early warning system called Lianshan. Logically speaking, before the vehicle suffers from thermal runaway, we should know in advance that there is a problem with the vehicle and deal with it in advance, so that it should not cause a serious failure such as thermal runaway.
So why did this happen? "Tango" is simply careless to put it bluntly.
In fact, more than 4 hours before the accident, the cloud reported a battery insulation failure, and customer service also contacted the car controller and driver. The vehicle even broke down due to the small battery feed and called for rescue. But the ideal did not take more effective emergency measures.
"Although we may have such and such statements, such and such difficulties,But I personally think it is related to the fact that our more than 1.4 million vehicles have never experienced battery thermal runaway due to abnormalities in the vehicle itself. Perhaps it is because we have never encountered similar problems, and many partners have been careless and taken it lightly."
So this also led to a failure that could have been avoided in advance because it was allowed to drive "with a serious insulation failure", thus turning into a major accident.
He regretted it: "If we had known that there was even a slight risk of thermal runaway, we would have chosen to recall it long ago instead of waiting until today..."
