The U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) announced today that global semiconductor sales reached US$208.4 billion in the third quarter of 2025, an increase of 15.8% from the second quarter. Global sales in September 2025 were US$69.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 25.1% (US$55.5 billion in September 2024) and an increase of 7.0% from August this year.

These monthly data are compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) and use a three-month moving average. SIA represents 99% of the revenue of the U.S. semiconductor industry and nearly two-thirds of non-U.S. chip companies.

SIA President and CEO John Neuffer said: "Global chip sales continued to grow in the third quarter of this year, significantly exceeding the second quarter. Market growth was mainly driven by increased demand for various types of semiconductor products such as storage and logic; while full-year growth was driven by increased sales to the Asia-Pacific and Americas regions."

In terms of regions, in September 2025, the Asia-Pacific/Other region increased by 47.9% year-on-year, the Americas increased by 30.6%, China increased by 15.0%, Europe increased by 6.0%, and Japan decreased by 10.2%. On a monthly basis, sales in the Americas increased 8.2% month-on-month in August, Asia-Pacific/Other regions increased 8.0%, China 6.0%, Europe 5.5%, and Japan 1.6%.
