Today, the State Council announced a notice on some holiday arrangements in 2026.This time we have the longest Spring Festival holiday in history, with a total of 9 days off from February 15th (Sunday, the 28th day of the twelfth lunar month) to February 23rd (Monday, the seventh day of the first lunar month). Work on February 14th (Saturday) and February 28th (Saturday).

It is worth noting that there are no off-days during the Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays. The three-day mini-holiday can make you relax more without burden.

This holiday also follows the newly revised "National Holidays and Anniversary Holiday Measures" in November 2024.Starting from January 1, 2025, the holidays for all citizens will be increased by two days, namely Lunar New Year's Eve and May 2.

This measure will also further optimize the time off, specifically emphasizing that: except for a few special circumstances, continuous working days before and after legal holidays generally do not exceed 6 days.

Clarify the principle of time off:

Except for some special annual holidays, the Spring Festival has an 8-day holiday starting from the Lunar New Year's Eve, the National Day holiday starts from October 1st, and there is a 7-day holiday. The Labor Day holiday starts from 5 days. New Year's Day, Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival have separate holidays or 3 consecutive days (if it falls on a Wednesday, it will only be a holiday on that day). If the National Day holiday falls on the Mid-Autumn Festival, it will be a combined 8-day holiday (this is the case in 2025 and 2028).

Optimize rest arrangements:

The method is clear, and the holidays that all citizens take can be reasonably arranged and unified.

Except for some special annual holidays, continuous working days before and after statutory holidays generally do not exceed 6 days.

The specific holiday arrangements for 2026 are as follows:
