OpenAI has released its AI video application Sora on the Android platform. Users can now create, share and re-edit AI-generated videos in short video streams on social apps. It is reported that this app has been launched on the Google Play app store in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Sora was first released on the iOS platform in September this year. According to official data, downloads exceeded 1 million within five days of its launch. The app focuses on a TikTok-style video browsing experience and allows users to make themselves or their friends the protagonist of AI videos through the "Cameo" function.

In recent weeks, Sora has sparked controversy over deepfake and copyright protection policies, with officials revising the policy to allow rights holders to choose not to participate in content creation.

In addition, OpenAI also introduced the "Character Cameo" function for Sora, allowing users to create reusable virtual characters, and plans to allow rights holders to charge additional fees for "Cameo" of popular characters in the future.
