The new "Resident Evil" live-action movie directed by Zach Craig will officially start shooting this month in Prague, Czech Republic. Recently, some netizens exposed a set of photos from the movie set on the social platform X, which mainly revealed the main stage of this story - Raccoon City.

Judging from the scene pictures currently exposed, the appearance of Raccoon City is slightly different from the usual image in the game: the streets are covered with snow, and the background is filled with burned-out vehicles and a cold industrial atmosphere. This contrasts with the usual image of rainy, gloomy Midwestern cities seen in the Resident Evil series.

It is reported that Craig said in an interview that he is a long-term player of the "Resident Evil" series, but has never watched any previous live-action adaptations, including the series of movies starring Milla Jovovich, the Netflix series and 2021's "Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City." He plans to create an original story line that is independent from the original game, but still retains the series' iconic horror atmosphere and settings.

Zach Craig has directed the 2022 horror film "Barbarian" and the upcoming "Weapon". Both works have been well received for their unique narrative and atmosphere. Industry insiders generally believe that his ability to master horror rhythm and space scheduling will bring a new interpretation to "Resident Evil".

The film is co-produced by Sony Pictures and Constantine Pictures and is expected to be released globally on September 18, 2026.
