Ayaneo is about to launch a new generation of Windows handheld console "Next 2" as the successor to the original Ayaneo Next. Officials recently announced that the device will be equipped with AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU processor, 16 cores and 32 threads, based on Zen 5 architecture, equipped with 64MB level 3 cache, and a maximum acceleration frequency of 5.1 GHz. The integrated Radeon 8060S GPU has 40 computing units and operates at a frequency of up to 2.9 GHz, providing handheld users with performance comparable to that of a discrete graphics card.

Next 2 uses Ayaneo’s latest self-developed hardware design, including a dual-fan cooling system, a high-capacity battery, and a display of at least 8 inches (according to official pictures). The control part integrates suspended eight-way cross keys, Hall effect triggers and smart dual touchpads. It also supports rear custom buttons and dynamic Chroma lighting effects.

Although the launch date has not yet been announced, Ayaneo has positioned Next 2 as its flagship Windows handheld machine, with performance far exceeding that of the Ryzen 7 8840U series. The 16-core APU and powerful cooling configuration indicate that it is targeted at high-performance enthusiasts. This machine will directly compete with similar products such as ASUS ROG Ally X and MSI Claw 8 AI+.

However, specific parameters such as internal storage capacity, battery specifications and interface configuration are still to be further disclosed by the official.
