According to CCTV news reports, China Aviation Development Group announced that the 3D printed minimalist turbojet engine independently developed by China Aviation Development Group successfully completed its first flight test, marking an important breakthrough for 3D printed engines in the field of engineering applications.

The flight test lasted 30 minutes, with a flight altitude of 6,000 meters and a maximum flight speed of Mach 0.75.The engine is working in full condition, and all working parameters are normal. my country has successfully completed the first single-engine flight test of the 3D printed minimalist turbojet engine independently developed by China.

Mi Dong, director of the Chief Engineer Office of the China Aerospace Engineering Research Institute, said that the success of this single-engine flight test shows that the reliability of the engine at higher flight altitudes and more complex environments has been further verified, and the adaptability of the engine and aircraft has been tested. It can provide new power solutions for platforms such as cruise missiles, UAVs, and target drones, showing good application prospects.

According to reports, this engine uses 3D printing manufacturing technology.More than three-quarters of the weight of the entire aircraft is manufactured using 3D printing, which greatly reduces the number of parts and achieves the design goals of lightweight and high performance, laying a solid foundation for the next step of flying at higher altitudes and speeds.
