Recently, an 85-year-old man in France lost his way on his way to seek medical treatment due to excessive reliance on GPS navigation. He ran nearly 1,500 kilometers and finally ended up in Croatia, which does not border France. It wasn't until his family discovered he was missing and called the police that he was found.

It is reported that the clinic the old man originally wanted to go to was only 20 kilometers away from his home and could be reached in a short time by car. However, after waiting and waiting, the old man was nowhere to be seen, so the clinic quickly notified his family.

After the family learned the news, they were extremely anxious and immediately contacted the fire brigade and asked them to go to the elderly person's home to check. When firefighters arrived, they found the home empty, indicating that the elderly man had gone out.

The anxious family immediately chose to call the police. In order to determine the old man's location as soon as possible, the police asked the military for assistance and located the old man's mobile phone.

Everyone was stunned when they saw the positioning results - the positioning showed that the old man was currently in a hotel in Croatia! You know, it is 1,500 kilometers away from the old man’s home, which is almost equivalent to crossing half of Europe!

After further checking the old man's driving route, we found that he started from his home in France, passed through Italy, and finally arrived in Croatia. This journey actually took 20 hours.

Faced with such a bizarre situation, the family and the police were full of doubts: How could the old man drive all the way out of the country to such a distant place when it was only a short 20 kilometers away from the clinic?

After finding the old man, the mystery was finally revealed, and the reason was a bit dumbfounding.

The old man explained that he didn't know why he suddenly left the country. It turned out that he relied heavily on GPS navigation when driving. The navigation malfunctioned for some reason that day and pointed him to the wrong route.

The old man had been obediently following the navigation instructions, but he drove farther and farther in a confused manner, and unknowingly ended up out of the country.

Due to the old man's advanced age, the police initially suspected that there was something wrong with his cognitive ability.

However, after some investigation, it was found that the old man had no cognitive impairment at all and his sense of direction was normal. All this was purely an accident.

Fortunately, the old man was eventually found, and his family rushed to Croatia to take him home.

The local media joked humorously: "I hope they will stop using that navigation when they go home...".
