Daniel Radcliffe - who will always be the first and only Harry Potter to millions of fans - recently decided to support his young successor. The actor revealed that he personally wrote to Dominic McLaughlin, who was chosen to play the lead role in the upcoming HBO TV adaptation of Harry Potter.

Radcliffe, who starred in eight Warner Bros. Harry Potter films from 2001 to 2011, has said he doesn't want to be "a ghost in these kids' lives" but still feels the need to send his support.
"I just wanted to write him and say, 'Hope you're having a lot of fun, even better than I did,'" Radcliffe said. "I had a lot of fun, but I hope you have a better experience. Honestly, when I see pictures of him and pictures of the other kids, I just want to hug them. They're all so young! I look at them and I think, 'Oh my gosh, I was doing the same thing at that age.' But there's something very touching and beautiful about it, and I hope they have a good time."

According to Radcliffe, Dominic also responded to him with a very warm letter. In addition to Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, the show will also star Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stott as Ron Weasley. The show is expected to premiere on HBO and HBO Max in 2027.
