Two days after Apple banned Beeper Mini and technicians fixed the problem and restored functionality, Beeper said it was investigating reports that some users were unable to receive iMessages on Beeper Mini and Beeper Cloud. The issues appear to have started occurring as early as around 6 p.m. ET; at that time, users reported that they were once again unable to receive iMessages on the Beeper Mini. Some users on Reddit also reported being unable to receive iMessages.
However, uninstalling and reinstalling the app seemed to resolve some of the issues, and some users reported that it still works fine. Beeper's status website also reported no issues. We don’t know if this is just a blip or if Apple is hitting the big time again.
Beeper launched the initial version of Beeper Mini on December 5, allowing Android users to use iMessage simply by entering their phone number. On Monday, Beeper put the BeeperMini back into use, but it can only be logged in with an Apple ID.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
