On December 1, several netizens whose certification information was Lenovo employees broke the news on social platforms that all employees of Lenovo ISG Shanghai were laid off. According to the leaked post, Lenovo ISG China’s layoffs were held at the 15th meeting, and the meeting was 13 minutes late, and only a two-minute recording was played to announce the layoffs.

In addition, even pregnant women are not immune. The post stated, "This operation involves hundreds of people at a site in Shanghai."

Another netizen posted a post about the compensation issue, saying, "Brothers and sisters, it's up to you to do your own thing." Under the post, a suspected Lenovo employee commented that the "old man" was too disrespectful and quit after finishing a recording.
He further pointed out, "They are in the United States, and we are meeting online, so they don't have the right to speak."
However, it is unclear who the "old man" in this netizen's mouth refers to.
There is also a lot of certification information that reveals more information for netizens who are Lenovo employees.

Some people commented that Lenovo has established its own R&D team in China, mainly selling self-developed products in China, and moved global product software research and development to India.

Someone revealed that not only Shanghai, but "Beijing will also be killed", and all software, firmware and OS in China will be abolished; involving Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Shenzhen.

Others said, "The CTO said this was a special award (author's note: special award)", "The CTO didn't dare come up and say it, so he just played a recording."
Judging from the netizen’s comments, the “old man” mentioned earlier seems to refer to Lenovo’s CTO.
It is understood that on July 25, 2024, Lenovo Group announced that Dr. Tolga Kurtoglu will serve as the new CTO.

Dr. Tolga Kurtoglu has extensive experience in the technology field. He served as chief technology officer of Hewlett-Packard, CEO of PARC (Palo Alto Research Center), and led Xerox Global Research Institute.
