U.S. President Donald Trump recently said at a White House press conference about the current state of his relationship with Musk that he and Musk get along well. At the press conference, Trump was asked what he thought of the Tesla CEO and whether their relationship was good. "I like Elon a lot; his endorsement really helped in the election," Trump responded.

Trump acknowledged there was an issue between the two, saying: "I don't want...everyone to have to have an electric car and he makes electric cars." But Trump later reassured that the two were on good terms. "We get along very well," he said.
Musk supported Trump and the Republican Party in the 2024 US election, and served as the head of Trump's "Government Efficiency Department" before leaving the White House. A few months ago, Musk publicly broke up with Trump over the so-called "big and beautiful" bill, and once announced the establishment of a new "American Party."
In June of this year, after Musk left his position at the Department of Government Effectiveness, the two had a public quarrel over their differences on Trump's "Big and Beautiful Act."
But their relationship has gradually mended since then. At the funeral of Trump political ally Charlie Kirk in September, Trump and Musk were photographed shaking hands and talking. Last month, Musk was invited to the White House to attend a dinner hosted by Trump for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
