NVIDIA has officially begun the process of phasing out its old architecture graphics cards. In the first 590 driver version released for the Linux platform, the official description lists support for the GTX 900 (Maxwell) and GTX 10 (Pascal) legacy architectures.

However, users have confirmed that the latest Linux 590.44.01 Beta driver no longer supports GTX 10 series GPUs, such as GTX 1050 Ti.

As early as July this year, NVIDIA announced that Maxwell, Pascal and Volta architecture GeForce/Quadro graphics cards will usher in the end of Game Ready driver support in October 2025, and the 580 version driver will be the last supported version.

However, this support was extended to the 581.80 driver released in late November, so this version is likely to be the final driver to support these old architectures.

Currently, NVIDIA has not released the 590 driver for the Windows platform, and the update cycle of the Linux version driver is not always the same as the Windows version. However, changes on the Linux side indicate that the Windows platform will no longer be supported.

However, this does not mean that these graphics cards are completely abandoned. Users will lose "Game Ready" optimization support for the latest games, but will continue to receive quarterly security updates until October 2028.
