After recently releasing a batch of entry-level 4G feature phones, HMD has quietly launched a set of three new phones with further streamlined configurations, namely HMD 100, HMD 101 and HMD 102. These three products are significantly different in appearance design from the HMD 101 4G and HMD 102 4G unveiled in September this year, but they have made "subtractions" at the functional level, focusing on the ultimate basic communication experience.

Among the three new products, HMD 102 is the most complete one, equipped with a camera and LED flash, as well as built-in MP3 playback function. HMD 101 has canceled the camera, while HMD 100 seems to have also cut off MP3 playback. It is speculated that there is no longer a microSD card expansion slot, and the body's own storage is almost negligible, only meeting the most basic functional machine needs.
It is worth noting that 4G support is not mentioned in the official information, which means that these three models are more targeted at markets that still retain 2G networks and have no rigid demand for Internet access. At present, many countries and regions have successively shut down 2G and 3G networks. In addition, these three new machines still use microUSB interfaces, which will make it difficult to go on sale in markets such as the European Union that have mandated the use of USB-C for portable electronic devices.

HMD has launched relevant user guides on the official Indian website and provided separate pages for HMD 101 and HMD 101 4G, reflecting that local operators are still maintaining 2G networks, so that the non-4G version still has a certain market space. For users who must use the 4G network, HMD will continue to provide HMD 101 4G, HMD 102 4G, which have similar shapes, support dual-SIM dual standby and are equipped with USB-C interfaces, as well as the previously released HMD 105 4G and HMD 110 4G.
