Overlooking Ji'an, Jiangxi Province from space, a 1.5-square-kilometer spindle-shaped island looks like a moored boat in the clear water of the Gan River. What is striking is that about one-third of the island is occupied by a school building complex and green areas. This is a unique existence in China’s educational geography:Bailuzhou Middle School (main school) in Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province.

This well-known provincial key middle school covers an area of about 130 acres, with buildings and lush forests scattered here and there. Connecting the island to the river banks on both sides is a modern bridge built to facilitate the exchange of teachers and students.
What's even more special is thatIn the core area of the campus, there is also the former site of Bailuzhou Academy, which was founded in 1241 AD and is known as one of the four major academies in Jiangxi.
This unique geographical and cultural environment has shaped the school’s distinctive temperament.
Walking around the campus, you will see towering ancient trees and a quiet environment, as if you are isolated from the waves of the Gan River and the hustle and bustle of the city, naturally creating an excellent atmosphere for meditative reading.
Perhaps it is this "scent of books in the river" that has accumulated for nearly 800 years that gives this place a profound cultural heritage.
This is the alma mater of national hero Wen Tianxiang. It inherits the school motto of “advocating integrity and making contributions”. The school has also continued to win the reputation of “China’s Top 100 Middle Schools” for its excellent academic performance.
