The authoritative American organization "Consumer Reports" recently announced the ranking of the best car brands in the United States in 2025. The list is ranked by Consumer Reports, which comprehensively scores 31 brands of cars in terms of reliability, owner satisfaction, safety and road test scores.

The list shows that among Japanese cars, Subaru continues to rank first as the best car brand."Subaru shares proven components, which helps ensure consistently excellent reliability," said Jack Fisher, senior director of vehicle testing. "It also incorporates cutting-edge safety systems and performs well in emergency handling and braking tests."

BMW followed closely behind, tying for first place with Subaru in overall score, maintaining its status as the benchmark luxury brand.

Lexus slipped to sixth place due to models such as the GX SUV falling to average reliability and the absence of new versions of the ES sedan.

Lincoln is the biggest mover on the list, rising 17 spots to seventh, in part as its aging product line becomes more reliable. For the same reason, Tesla rose 8 spots and entered the top ten camp.

For any brand, new models often bring reliability risks. Affected by this, after the launch of the new Audi Q4 E-Tron electric car and the discontinuation of the highly reliable A4 model, Audi dropped 10 places to 16th place.

The three brands at the bottom of the list are Jeep, Land Rover, GMC and other brands. They are also the brands that occupy the bottom three in the "Consumer Reports" list all year round.

In addition, Consumer Reports also pointed out that we only include brands in the brand rankings if we have tested at least two models of the car company on sale. Therefore, no ratings from Fiat, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lucid, Maserati, Polestar or Ram appear on the list.
