After operating in China for 24 years, Canon (Zhongshan) Office Equipment Co., Ltd., a major Japanese company, finally announced that it would cease production and operations and officially close. According to the company's announcement, due to the rapid changes in the market environment (the continued shrinkage of the LBP market, the rapid rise of China's domestic LBP brands, etc.), the company's operating difficulties continued to intensify. Despite the efforts of many parties to adjust, the company was still unable to reverse the situation. After careful study, the headquarters made the difficult decision to cease the company's production and operations.

According to the person in charge of Canon's Zhongshan factory, a certain proportion of the factory's products were sold domestically a few years ago, but now 100% of the products produced by the factory have been exported to other countries.

As for the compensation issue for the company's employees after the dissolution, the official also gave an explanation.

According to information disclosed by relevant employees at Canon's Zhongshan factory on social media, the company's compensation for economic compensation, employment support, Ming En Contribution Award, and New Journey Struggle Award totaled 400,000 yuan, far exceeding the "N+1" compensation standard of the labor law. "This is the reward for my 18 years of work. I am very satisfied."

"The level of compensation has a lot to do with the number of years of service. Not everyone can get as much as 400,000 yuan, and not everyone can get the "2.5N+1" reported online. Adding up the various categories, the final compensation everyone received is around 2.3N, which is indeed far beyond the legal standard. There is also a recommendation letter from the chairman. In terms of sincerity, everyone is quite satisfied."
