Foxconn, the world's largest electronics contract manufacturer, said on Friday it would spend NT$15.9 billion ($509.94 million) to build its headquarters in Kaohsiung, a city in southern Taiwan. Foxconn said the new headquarters will include a commercial and residential complex and a residential building. Construction is expected to start in 2027 and be completed in 2033.

Foxconn said that this headquarters will become an important hub connecting its various businesses in Tainan. After completion, it will house the smart city team, software R&D team, battery cell R&D team, electric vehicle technology R&D center and artificial intelligence application software team.

The Kaohsiung City Government revealed that Foxconn’s cumulative investment in the city over the past three years has reached NT$25 billion (approximately US$801.8 million).

The new headquarters will include a commercial, residential and office multi-functional building and a residential building.
