According to the White House AI advisor, although the United States has allowed the sale of H200 chips to China, China has seen through the tricks and will not purchase H200 chips.David Sachs, the head of the US White House's AI affairs, pointed out that China has figured out the US strategy of allowing it to purchase Nvidia's AI chip H200 and plans to use domestic chips.
"They rejected our chips. Obviously they don't want these, and I think the reason is that they want to make the semiconductor industry self-reliant."
CEO Huang Renxun also said last week that he was not sure whether mainland China would accept the H200 chip; "We don't know. We have no clue."
Regarding supporting the development of domestic chips, it is reported that my country plans to provide incentives of up to 500 billion yuan to the chip industry.
According to people familiar with the matter, the plan plans to allocate 200 billion yuan (about 28 billion U.S. dollars) to 500 billion yuan in subsidies and other financing support funds, but the final details, specific amounts and target companies of these incentives are still being discussed.
