The American company Alef Aeronautics recently announced thatThe simplified prototype of the first flying car Model A, which they have spent more than ten years developing, is about to be delivered. Each vehicle is priced at 235,000 pounds (approximately 2.22 million yuan).Alef said it has begun manufacturing the first flying cars for customers at its factory in California's Silicon Valley.

The first batch of models will be hand-built and delivered to only a handful of early customers in order to test flying cars in real-world environments. This slow rollout will help resolve potential issues before flying cars enter mass production.
Unlike flying taxis that rely on airports or vertical airports,Alef claims that its flying car is “100 percent electric, drivable on public roads, and has vertical takeoff and landing capabilities.”
According to reports, the entire vehicle weighs only 385 kilograms (850 pounds). Thanks to the four drive motors installed on each wheel, the driving experience of Model A on the ground is like that of an ordinary electric car. It has a ground range of 200 miles (321 kilometers) and a top speed of 40km/h.

The vehicle is equipped with four powerful propellers around the driver's seat. The carbon fiber mesh body measures approximately five meters x two meters, allowing air to pass through the vehicle. The maximum flight speed in the air is 110 miles (177 kilometers) per hour, and the air range is also 110 miles.
Earlier this year, Alef released a video of a Model A flying over other vehicles. After taking off from the spot, the flying car flew over the front of a Tesla Cybertruck, proving its true flying capabilities.

It is understood that Model A is the first aircraft to receive special airworthiness certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and is the first to receive reservations from car dealers.
Alef revealed that it has received 3,500 reservations with an order value of over US$1 billion. The official website currently supports priority bookings with a deposit of US$150 or US$1,500. The first customer deliveries are expected to begin in 2026.
