With the release of iOS 26.3 beta, Apple has added a new native data migration tool to the system, allowing iPhone users to complete data transfer without downloading additional third-party applications when switching to Android smartphones. Users only need to put the iPhone and the target Android device together, establish a connection through system guidance, and then choose to migrate photos, messages, memos, applications, passwords, phone numbers and other types of personal data in the wizard, so as to restore the original usage environment on the new machine as much as possible.

The report pointed out that not all data is supported, and health data, paired Bluetooth device information, and protected items (such as locked memos) will not be transferred to the Android side. The wireless migration function requires both devices to be running the latest version of the system, connected to Wi‑Fi and turning on Bluetooth at the same time to ensure data transmission in a local point-to-point environment.

In terms of specific operations, users can choose to display the QR code on the Android device, scan it with the iPhone and start the migration process, or establish a connection by entering the session ID and pairing code. During the transfer process, users can check the content categories to be migrated as needed to achieve more granular control and reduce friction costs when switching from one ecosystem to another.

It is worth noting that Google has also implemented a similar solution for migrating data from Android to iPhone, making data migration between the two platforms a relatively symmetrical two-way channel. Last week, the European Commission stated that the new migration system designed and implemented by Apple and Google is to comply with the requirements of the EU's Digital Market Act (DMA), but this feature is not limited to the European market. In the current version, the new "Move to Android" entrance is available globally in iOS 26.3 beta at: Settings > General > Transfer or Restore iPhone > Transfer to Android.
