The data shows,About 38.77 million people over the age of 60 in my country have mild cognitive impairment (MCI), without intervention, 38% will develop Alzheimer's disease within 5 years. On the 11th of this month, Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine issued the country’s first electronic prescription for gamified cognitive training for patients with mild cognitive impairment, providing a new option for elderly people at risk of cognitive decline.
The core of this prescription is the “Tencent Brain Exercise” software,This software, which took three years of research and development, has obtained a medical device registration certificate and is now an official medical project, with a single treatment fee of 30.6 yuan.

The software has four life-oriented training modules: "Cooking Competition", "Music Competition", "Storage Master" and "Poetry Conference". Each module has more than 150 levels.

Under the guidance of doctors, patients can be trained through life-style games such as simulating making pancakes and filling in blanks with poems. This design activates the brain through interesting tasks, solves the pain points of traditional cognitive rehabilitation training being boring and difficult for patients to persist, and can improve patients' treatment compliance.
Game training targets six cognitive domains such as memory and executive function.Stimulates the prefrontal lobe and hippocampus, promotes neuronal connections, and may slow down beta-amyloid deposition (a pathological hallmark of Alzheimer's disease).
Research shows that after three months of regular training, participants’ brain vitality scores increased by an average of 30%.
Research in "Nature" confirmed that gamified cognitive training can repair brain decline. The "International Journal of Psychiatry" also mentioned that such puzzle games can stimulate normal brain cells to function, thereby improving patients' cognitive abilities.
