December 18,JD.com’s first single-family “Brother’s Home” in Wuhan has been officially put into use recently. This project is located on Zhongnan Road, Wuchang District. It adopts a whole-building leasing model and aims to provide free accommodation services for JD.com’s full-time couriers and takeaway riders. This is another substantial progress made by JD.com in the construction of housing security system after Beijing, Chengdu and other places.

It is understood that the location of the "Brother's Home" covers multiple JD.com sites in the surrounding area, and the internal supporting facilities includePrivate bathroom, air conditioner, water heater and entire row of washing machinesIt has a full set of living facilities, including a library corner and a "family room" for visiting relatives. According to the relevant person in charge, qualified full-time riders and couriers can check in with their bags as soon as the same day after applying. For delivery workers working in areas where universities are concentrated, this move significantly reduces the cost of living. Taking the first batch of riders as an example,After moving in, you only need to bear less than 50 yuan in water and electricity bills every month. Compared with renting a house by yourself before, you can save about 1,000 yuan per month..

In addition to improvements in hardware facilities, the project is also equipped with an independent access control system to ensure residential safety. For front-line employees, a stable living environment coupled with the "five insurances and one fund" paid by the company will help them take root in a city for a long time. Some riders said that the saved rent and stable income have enabled them to pay the down payment for buying a house in Wuhan.

In its previous strategic plan, JD.com disclosed its housing security goals:It will invest 22 billion yuan in the next five years and plans to provide a total of 150,000 "Brother's Homes" for front-line employees.. So far, JD.com has provided a total of 28,000 housing units. This plan attempts to build a large-scale and standardized employment security system in the industry through various forms such as self-construction and full rental to solve the actual housing pain points of front-line blue-collar groups.
