Some AirPods Pro 3 users reported thatEven after upgrading to the latest firmware 8B30 released by Apple in December, static-like noise, crackling sounds or intermittent high-frequency howling still occur when the active noise cancellation (ANC) mode is turned on in the headphones.
This problem can be traced back to October this year. At that time, some users reported that when active noise reduction was turned on and audio was not played, the headphones would emit continuous static noise or sudden popping sounds, and some devices were even accompanied by harsh high-frequency howling.
Apple released firmware 8B25 in November. Then 8B30 was launched on December 10, and attempts were made to fix related faults through software updates. However, the update log only mentioned "bug fixes and other improvements" in general, and did not clearly point to the noise problem.
However, the problem has not been completely solved after multiple updates. Users say that static noise and popping sounds still exist and occur at irregular times.
In addition, the scope of faults appears to be expanding. Some users reported that there was obvious audio delay and audio and video out of sync when watching videos.
Some affected users have applied to Apple to replace their devices, but the same problem still occurs after replacement.
As of now, Apple has not given a clear technical explanation or effective solution on this matter.
