On December 19, local time, the U.S. Department of Justice began to release investigation documents related to the Epstein case. The Justice Department added a note to the page where it posted links to the documents saying it had made "every reasonable effort" to redact the victims' personal information, but warned that some information could be inadvertently disclosed.

It is reported that Deputy Attorney General Branch stated in a letter to Congress that during a comprehensive review of the files, the Department of Justice identified more than 1,200 victims and their family members, and all relevant names and identifying information have been deleted in accordance with the law.

Branch said earlier in the day that hundreds of thousands of documents will be released on the 19th, but full disclosure may take "several weeks."
