Today, a "User Notice Regarding the Stopping of Porsche Exclusive Charging" circulated on the Internet, which shows:Porsche's self-built charging network will cease operations on March 1, 2026.This matter has attracted the attention of Porsche owners and the industry. Porsche China confirmed to the media that starting from March 1, 2026, Porsche will orderly dismantle the exclusive charging service facilities. From then on, Porsche will turn to in-depth cooperation with the industry’s leading charging operators.

The Notice also stated thatPorsche Exclusive Charging Service (including all Porsche-built high-power DC charging stations) will cease to be provided and will be gradually removed from the charging map of the Porsche App and Porsche WeChat Mini Program.

Porsche officials said that this adjustment only applies to the Porsche Exclusive Charging Scenario. Other charging scenarios are still operating normally. For example, charging stations installed in Porsche Centers (dealership stores), Porsche destination charging stations and third-party brand charging stations integrated into the Porsche Charging Map can still be used normally.

It is understood that Porsche has vigorously promoted the brand's transformation to electrification in recent years, but the sales volume of its electric models in the Chinese market cannot be said to be outstanding. The monthly sales volume of Porsche Taycan in the Chinese market is less than 100 units.

In addition, Porsche's overall sales have also declined significantly in China. In 2024, Porsche China sales will be 56,900 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 28%; in the first three quarters of this year, Porsche China sales will be 32,195 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 26%.

Poor sales have also put pressure on Porsche China's performance. Porsche has adopted a contraction strategy in the country. Porsche China President and CEO Pan Lichi once revealed that Porsche China hopes to optimize its 150 dealer online stores to about 100 by the end of 2026.

Obviously, Porsche's closure of self-operated charging stations is also part of its contraction strategy. In the future, whether Porsche can regain its glory in China depends on the product strength and price of subsequent models, and whether it can impress Chinese luxury car users.
