AMD's processor sales advantage on the Amazon platform is further expanding. The latest data shows that its products have taken over the top 14 best-selling CPUs on Amazon and won 19 seats in the top 20, leaving only one place for Intel. This continues AMD's strong performance in the retail market since November 2024, when it also occupied the top 12 spots on Amazon's best-selling list.

Currently, the most popular processor on Amazon is the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which is positioned in the high-end gaming market. This chip was called the new "King of Gaming" in last year's review and currently sells for about $469, slightly higher than its suggested retail price of $449. Among the top ten, the previous generation Ryzen 7 7800X3D still ranks third, showing the long-term appeal of the Zen 4 3D V-Cache game processor in terms of performance and energy efficiency.
Looking at the top 20 as a whole, the list is almost exclusively occupied by AMD Zen 5, Zen 4 and Zen 3 architecture products. Even the Ryzen 5 3600 based on the Zen 2 architecture still appears in seventh place, showing the continued competitiveness of mid-range older products in terms of price and performance. The only Intel processor in the top twenty is the Core i9-14900K. In a previous comparison between the Core i9-14900K and the Core Ultra 9 285K, the reviewer found that this previous generation 14th generation flagship still outperformed the newer Arrow Lake high-end model in terms of gaming performance, while the latter's overall performance was considered disappointing.
Outside the top 20 on Amazon, AMD's advantage continues: in the range from 21st to 26th, four of the six products are from AMD, and the other two are Intel's Core i9-12900K and Core i5-12600K. This means that in the retail market for mid-to-high-end players and enthusiasts, AMD firmly takes the initiative in terms of sales and exposure.
AMD's strong performance is not only reflected in the US e-commerce platform data, but also continues to expand its influence among the player community. The latest Steam Hardware and Software Survey shows that the proportion of users using AMD processors has risen to 42.6%, a significant increase from 33.8% a year ago. If this trend continues, AMD is expected to surpass Intel on this platform for the first time next year.

There are also positive signals coming from the European market. Mindfactory, a large German DIY retailer, sold 2,260 AMD processors in one week in November this year, while Intel only had 220. AMD's share of CPU sales revenue in this channel is as high as 90%, with Ryzen 7 9800X3D also being the most popular model. Although Mindfactory has always been known for providing more promotions, discounts and bundling solutions for AMD products, AMD's advantages in this channel are already extremely obvious in terms of sales volume and revenue ratio.
It is worth noting that while high-end and new platforms are hot, the demand for old platforms and older models has also been pushed up again. According to reports, the recent transaction price of Ryzen 7 5800X3D on eBay reached a maximum of US$800, which is higher than the current price of the new Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The reason behind this is that the AM4 platform corresponding to the 5800X3D is AMD's only platform that still supports DDR4 memory. In the context of the continued high price of DDR5, many players prefer to upgrade high-end processors on the old platform in order to control the cost of the whole machine, rather than investing more budget to build a new DDR5 platform.
From Amazon rankings, Steam survey data to German retail channel statistics, market signals from multiple dimensions point to the same trend: in the field of consumer CPUs, AMD is continuing to suppress competitors with a robust product portfolio and platform strategy, especially in the gaming and enthusiast markets to establish stronger brand appeal. The industry expects that as long as DDR5 price pressure is difficult to alleviate and AMD maintains its current pace on Zen 5 and subsequent architectures, this "red dominance" pattern will continue for some time to come.
