Recently, the Culture and Tourism Bureau of Gucheng District, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province issued the "Letter on Requesting the Xiaohongshu Platform to Strengthen the Review, Supervision and Monitoring of Information in the Wedding Photography Field in Lijiang City" (hereinafter referred to as the letter), which triggered heated discussions. The letter states that Xiaohongshu’s main responsibility and auditing obligations in terms of platform information monitoring and management are not in place, resulting in a large number of consumers using the platform to publish untrue lightning protection posts, exposure posts and other content without the company’s fault liability in order to achieve their ultra-reasonable demands, threatening the company with refunds. It is difficult for companies to appeal against such false content, which has caused a large number of corporate reputations to be slandered and a large number of cancellations and cancellations. As of December, companies have unsubscribed more than 1 million yuan due to false lightning protection posts, resulting in indirect losses of more than 5 million yuan.
In this regard, Xiaohongshu customer service said, "The platform has always encouraged sincere and real experience sharing, and continues to deal with illegal content such as fictitious personal experiences, exaggeration, etc. Currently, the platform has multiple public channels for accepting reports and infringements. Merchants can report controversial note content and submit evidence materials, and platform staff will conduct subsequent review. If it is confirmed that the content contains violations, the platform will deal with it as soon as possible."
Another third party close to Xiaohongshu said: Xiaohongshu has not yet found any illegal lightning protection posts among the clues provided by Lijiang. It will continue to conduct research and review after obtaining more clues.
