After ten years of systematic restoration and protection, the Yangxin Hall of the Forbidden City officially reopened today. This restoration effectively solved the problems existing in the building itself, restored and continued the health of the Yangxin Hall area, and improved the preservation environment of indoor cultural relics.
The Yangxin Hall of the Forbidden City is located on the west side of the Qianqing Palace, with the West Sixth Palace to the south. It was built in the 16th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1537).
The original display of Yangxin Hall preserves the original state of Yongzheng, Qianlong, Tongzhi and Guangxu in different periods, with a total of 1020 exhibits.
It is understood that the restoration of the Yangxin Hall allows the audience to touch the historical traces of different periods in each room. The simplicity of the early Qing Dynasty, the prosperity of the middle period, and the restraint of the late Qing Dynasty unfold in the space one after another.
According to the Palace Museum, in order to ensure the safety of cultural relics and the organic unity of exhibition effects,In this exhibition, all 184 exhibits of paper, silk, calligraphy, painting, and plaques will be replaced with imitations, and 255 exhibits of weaving and embroidery will be replaced with imitations.
This will not only allow paper and silk cultural relics that are relatively sensitive to light to be more effectively protected in the warehouse, but will not affect the exhibition effect of the restored display of the Yangxin Hall in any way.
