Just like Santa Claus, Valve created two lists: one for good kids and one for naughty kids. After giving the good kids the gift of game discounts and winter updates, the naughty ones are getting theirs too: According to Valve, "thousands" of cheating DOTA 2 players will receive a piece of coal in their stockings and a permanent ban as a Christmas "gift."

"DOTA2" Frost Festival is now open. In addition to new holiday celebrations, new activities and game improvements, Valve also said: "KingKringle is walking around with his ban hammer and will crush the alt accounts of all naughty boys and girls, and then punish their main accounts."

Previously, in September, Valve issued a "We do not welcome alt accounts" announcement, banned more than 90,000 alt accounts, and stated that it would "continue to study player behavior monitoring" and would continue to severely punish alt accounts and other problematic behaviors, such as malicious games that lead to lower behavioral scores and then find someone to increase the score.

Valve said: "If you are on the naughty list, then we have good news for everyone else and bad news for you, because this year is going to be a 'bloodbath.'" Valve said that in its last crackdown on cheaters, it "banned thousands of accounts" in the last day alone.

Players who have logged into the game in the past few days but are also on Valve's "naughty list" will receive a holiday gift, but when they open it, they will find "toxic coal" inside. The accompanying message reads: "Your Dota account has been permanently banned due to cheating or other violations of the Steam Terms of Service."
