According to CCTV news reports, early this morning,An FP-985 "Taurus" large fixed-wing drone that took off from Linzhi Milin Airport in Tibet successfully landed at Beichuan Yongchang Airport in Mianyang, Sichuan.The drone was loaded with Tibetan specialty products such as Camellia oleifera and yak milk products.It marks the success of the first verification flight of large-scale drone logistics routes on my country's plateau.It has laid a solid foundation for building an efficient and stable low-altitude logistics network in the western plateau region.
It is understood that the FP-985 "Taurus" is a large fixed-wing UAV independently developed by my country. It is mainly targeted at special geographical environment application scenarios such as plateaus, islands and remote areas.
The aircraft has a maximum take-off weight of 5.7 tons, an effective payload of more than 2 tons, and a transit range of more than 2,000 kilometers.It has the ability to perform long-distance material transportation tasks in complex and extreme environments such as plateau alpine cold and island salt spray.
At the same time, the FP-985 "Taurus" not only supports short-distance takeoffs and landings at standard airports, but can also be flexibly deployed at simple airports. It has key properties such as anti-icing, lightning protection, and high wind resistance, and can achieve all-weather, continuous flight operations.
