This island was born shortly after the game was released in 2020, and quickly became popular among Japanese players and streamers. It has been evaluated by some players as "completely destroying the spirit of the original game with exquisite details."
After landing on the island, the first thing players see is a "free information center" - in reality, this is usually a consultation point that provides information about special nightlife venues. This sets the tone for the entire island, which is dotted with an Edo-era-inspired red-light district, dalliance establishments, adult shops, and even a sexy display called the "Exhibition of Biological Curiosities." Other "attractions" include a love hotel decorated with a giant statue of David, numerous pinball parlors, smoking areas, "herbal" vending machines, and a gentlemen's sauna.
Visitors can also visit the homes of the island residents, which are full of intriguing details that hint at their "daily life": for example, in the "staff quarters", Nook's room has feminine decorations, suggesting that he will bring a lady back after get off work; while Fu Da's room is littered with used tissues, and the bedside is covered with photos of Xi Shihui. A resident named Violet lives in the red light district and plays the role of "dofu", the highest-ranking oiran in the Edo period.
The island is not all about glitz. Most streets are littered with trash and lined with abandoned buildings, suggesting that many residents live in poverty. Today, this controversial virtual world can no longer be directly accessed through games, and its former "prosperity" can only be preserved in a large number of Japanese game videos and live broadcasts that record it.
