Recently, Liu Baojie, a 50-year-old resident of Yangjiang, Guangdong, was named "Good Person of Guangdong".Ever since she learned that she had the rare RH-negative blood type when she donated blood for the first time in Shenzhen in 1997, she followed the doctor's instructions and quietly donated blood regularly for 28 years.
In order to ensure that she can respond to emergency blood needs at any time, Liu Baojie has long maintained strict living habits: not staying up late, exercising frequently, and striving to keep her body in a state suitable for blood donation.
In the past 28 years, she has donated blood 28 times, with a total volume of 9,200 ml, becoming the person with the largest amount of blood donation among rare blood type blood donors in Yangjiang City.
Zhang Yue from the downtown blood station explained that due to limited blood preservation technology in the early days, rare blood types like "panda blood" were usually not stored for long periods of time due to their low frequency of clinical use. Therefore, these rare blood donors are more like a "walking blood bank", donating blood when needed.
According to Liu Baojie, being able to help others is a happy thing in itself. However, Liu Baojie still believes that what she does is small, and there are many people like her who are dedicating their efforts to help others in obscurity. She is lucky to be the one who is seen.
