According to local media and police reports in Pittsburgh, 35-year-old William Gregory was formally arrested and charged with "racial intimidation" and "burglary" for allegedly impersonating a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent to break into a house and attempt to steal a PlayStation and other items. The man was successfully subdued by a 17-year-old boy during the crime.

According to the criminal complaint, Gregory broke into a home through a kitchen window in the Beltzufer neighborhood south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and claimed to be an ICE agent. It is alleged that he asked to see documents related to the resident's legal identity, then threatened a teenager in the house with a knife and attempted to steal a PlayStation game console, multiple controllers and the teenager's mobile phone. The teen eventually punched Gregory in the face, knocking him unconscious until police arrived, police reports said.

"I believe it was a Latino family, and our community is very diverse," Crystal Calloway, a neighbor, said in an interview. She expressed concern about someone pretending to be an ICE agent trying to harm the community.

Calloway also praised the brave behavior of his neighbor's son: "This young man's adrenaline was stimulated and he took action to protect his family, which is remarkable. It is a blessing." William Gregory is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
