Samsung today officially released the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Special Edition mobile phone, which will serve as the official designated product for the Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo 2026 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics. This model continues Samsung’s tradition of launching limited-edition devices for previous Olympic Games. It will be distributed to participating athletes at Olympic Villages in six cities starting from January 30. A total of approximately 3,800 units will be distributed to delegation members from approximately 90 countries and regions. This model will not be retailed for general consumers and is expected to become a popular collector's item on the secondary market.
In terms of appearance, the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Special Edition adopts an exclusive blue design on the back of the fuselage. Samsung said that this color echoes the visual style of the Milan Cortina 2026 event and combines the brand's consistent blue tone with the cultural image of Italy's "azure". The official also gave this color matching the meaning of "symbolizing unity and sportsmanship in the Olympic spirit." The golden metal middle frame is designed to "symbolize athletes' pursuit of excellence and podium moments, and also reflect the brand's pursuit of the ultimate experience."
In terms of packaging accessories, Samsung has equipped the machine with a transparent magnetic protective case with a blue circular magnetic decoration on the back and a golden laurel leaf pattern surrounding the outer ring, which means "winner's crown". The overall design strengthens the recognition of "Olympic limited edition" and combines with the folding form to form a distinct commemorative attribute.
At the software level, the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Special Edition is preset with a set of exclusive wallpapers and themes, and is equipped with a complete application and service portfolio for athletes. Among them, Galaxy Athlete Card allows athletes to exchange personal information digitally and participate in interactive activities; Athlete365 provides performance and mental health support during games, and pushes key schedule and competition information. In addition, the mobile phone is also pre-installed with services such as the official Olympic Games application, IOC Hotline and PinQuest, making it easier for athletes to obtain information and support during the Olympic Village and competition venues.
Considering that most athletes still use other brands of mobile phones as their main daily mobile phone, Samsung also provides each athlete who obtains this phone with a 5G eSIM containing 100GB of data to lower the threshold for them to try to use this folding screen phone during the event. The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Special Edition will be distributed by Samsung in various Olympic villages and will not be sold separately. Its configuration specifications are basically the same as the regular version of Galaxy Z Flip7, with only the appearance design and preset software being deeply customized.
