According to the Financial Times, which cited five anonymous people familiar with the matter, Elon Musk proposed to time the initial public offering (IPO) of Space Exploration Technology Company (SpaceX) in June to coincide with a planetary conjunction and his birthday.

According to reports, SpaceX is seeking to raise up to $50 billion at a valuation of about $1.5 trillion.

People familiar with the matter said that since mid-December last year, SpaceX Chief Financial Officer Bret Johnson (Bret Johnsen) has held meetings and video conferences with existing private investors to discuss advancing the IPO in mid-2026.
