According to multiple sources and foreign media game reporters, Nintendo may be preparing for an important media event, which is very likely to coincide with its upcoming large-scale online "Nintendo Direct" on February 5.

A number of well-known gaming journalists have recently been seen or revealed themselves to have traveled to New York, with their destination pointing to the Nintendo New York flagship store at Rockefeller Center. This location is not only a classic recording venue for previous "Nintendo Direct Meetings", but is also often used to hold new game launches and media preview events.
Journalists mentioned include Steve from GameXplain, Blessing from Kinda Funny, Andy from VGC, and well-known content creator RogersBase. Among them, VGC’s Andy even showed off his “Nintendo passport holder” on social media, further suggesting that this trip is related to official Nintendo events.

Well-known whistleblower Nate the Hate previously revealed that Nintendo plans to hold a large-scale comprehensive face-to-face meeting on February 5. Analysts believe that the reporters gathered in New York this time, most likely to participate in offline media activities accompanying the face-to-face meeting, such as closed-door demonstrations or interviews of new works.

Although the specific release content is not yet known, the outside world's expectations for this event are extremely high. The year 2026 coincides with the anniversaries of many of Nintendo's flagship series, including "The Legend of Zelda", "Pokémon", "Animal Crossing", "Metroid" and "Super Mario", which provides an excellent opportunity for possible major new game releases or celebrations of classic works.
