It has been nearly five years since Windows 11 was released. It has a completely new design in terms of applications, settings, start menu, etc. However, there are still many interfaces and dialog boxes that continue the style of Windows 10, Windows 8 or even earlier versions, which seem out of place. For example, many legacy dialog boxes are not only visually out of place, but also often dazzling at night because they do not support dark mode.
Now, Microsoft has finally begun to gradually improve these legacy issues. In the latest Windows 11 preview version (Dev and Beta channels), Microsoft has introduced multiple modern dialog boxes.

Although the official update log does not provide details, attentive developers have discovered that interfaces such as the VHD confirmation dialog box and the Windows Protected Print dialog box have been completely new.
The new dialog box adopts rounded corners and a simple design that is in line with the overall aesthetics of Windows 11, eliminating the visual fragmentation of the previous generation system.

The most practical improvement of this update is that it supports adaptive dark/light mode. When using it at night, users will no longer be "blinded" by the old white window that suddenly pops up.
In addition to the visual upgrade of the dialog box, the new version also redraws the "Account Information" and "Account Type" settings pages.
It is worth mentioning that the system now provides better support for WEBP format images, and users can now set them as desktop wallpapers directly in the settings.
