Kevin Warsh, U.S. President Donald Trump’s nominee to be the next Federal Reserve chairman, appeared in another batch of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein released by the U.S. government on Friday.Wash's name appeared on a guest mailing list labeled "St. Bart's Christmas Event 2010," along with the likes of Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich and disgraced director Brett Ratner. In addition, Wash's name appeared on the attendance list of a dinner hosted by British aristocrat William Astor.

On the day the above news came to light, Trump happened to nominate Warsh to take charge of the Federal Reserve. The nomination is surprisingly conservative given Trump's eagerness to slash interest rates. Warsh has traditionally been cautious about inflation, but in the past few months he has signaled support for lower interest rates.
Warsh has been deeply involved in the field of monetary policy for a long time and was appointed as a governor of the Federal Reserve as early as 2006. However, it is not surprising that he appears in Epstein-related documents - his wife is billionaire heiress Jane Lauder, the granddaughter of Estée Lauder founder Esther Lauder and the daughter of Republican financier Ronald Lauder. This status put Wash into the wealthy circle where Epstein was active at the time.
Nonetheless, it is ultimately embarrassing that the news of the nomination of Fed chairman coincided with the release of the documents on the same day. Warsh's biggest point of contention before the documents were made public on Friday was his association with Ronald Lauder, who reportedly inspired Trump's interest in Greenland during his first term as president and who holds business assets on the island.
Now, Warsh may have to respond to a series of questions: How familiar was he with Epstein? What activities was he involved in on St. Barts during Christmas 2010? Outsiders will also question whether Trump nominated him because the three of them belong to the same social circle and know each other.
