Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the company will participate in OpenAI’s latest round of funding, calling it likely “our largest investment to date.” Huang told reporters on Saturday: "We will invest a lot of money. I believe in OpenAI. The work they have done is amazing and they are one of the most influential companies today." Huang did not disclose the specific amount of the company's investment, but called the amount "huge."

"Let Sam announce how much money he wants to raise, that's up to him," Huang said, adding that Altman was putting the finishing touches on the round. "But we will definitely participate in the next round of financing because it is a very good investment."
This follows reports on Friday that investment plans had stalled as some within Nvidia expressed doubts about the deal. Citing unnamed people familiar with the matter, the media reported that Huang privately emphasized that the $100 billion agreement was non-binding. He also privately criticized OpenAI's lack of discipline in its business model and expressed concerns about competition.
When asked by reporters about the report, which seemed to imply that he was not satisfied with OpenAI, Huang said: "That is pure nonsense." He also said that Nvidia's investment in OpenAI's latest round of financing will not be close to $100 billion.
Nvidia said it plans to invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI to support new data centers and other artificial intelligence infrastructure, according to a letter of intent signed in September. The agreement is intended to help OpenAI build data centers with a capacity of at least 10 gigawatts, equivalent to New York City’s peak power demand. The data centers will be equipped with Nvidia's advanced chips for training and deploying artificial intelligence models.
OpenAI is seeking to raise up to $100 billion in its current funding round, according to a person familiar with the matter. Amazon is in talks to invest up to $50 billion in OpenAI and expand a deal that would involve selling computing power to the artificial intelligence startup, people familiar with the matter said on Thursday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the discussions are private.
