According to the Financial Times, four people familiar with the matter said:Ford Motor Co. has held talks with Xiaomi about a partnership that could pave the way for Xiaomi to enter the U.S. market.Ford has begun exploring the possibility of forming a joint venture with Xiaomi to produce electric vehicles in the United States, although discussions are still in the preliminary stages, people familiar with the matter said.

Today, Xiaomi responded to this statement and made it clear that reports that Xiaomi is discussing a joint venture with Ford Motor Company are false.

Xiaomi emphasized that it currently does not sell its products and services in the United States and is not negotiating with Ford about establishing a joint venture.

In response to this rumor, Ford also responded: "This report is completely fabricated and has no basis in fact."

It is worth mentioning that Ford CEO Jim Farley has publicly praised Chinese electric vehicles many times, and he has personally imported Xiaomi SU7 models for use.

Farley said last year that Chinese competitors posed an "existential threat" to Western car companies and that China's domestic production capacity alone was enough to "bankrupt us all."He also mentioned before that Chinese companies "will definitely enter" the U.S. market.
